Overview
Hiflex Impression Composition is a red, thermoplastic impression compound for dental clinics and laboratories. It is intended for primary impressions of edentulous arches, border molding of custom trays, adjustment and stabilization of impressions prior to model pouring, and copper band impressions for prepared teeth. The material softens uniformly in warm water and hardens at intraoral temperature to support accurate, dimensionally stable results.
Indications
- Primary impressions for completely edentulous arches (preliminary denture procedures).
- Border molding/muscle trimming for special or custom trays.
- Adjustment and stabilization of impressions before casting.
- Copper band impressions for prepared teeth.
Key features
- Thermoplastic handling: softens uniformly in hot water at 50–55°C for easy adaptation on the impression tray and handling without sticking to fingers.
- Sets at oral temperature to reduce distortion during removal.
- Allows repeated local reheating with a simple heat source or warm water for targeted corrections without discarding the full impression.
- Compatible for use as a base or reinforced border with other impression materials, including A-silicone, C-silicone, and hydrocolloid.
- Supplied as cakes or sticks for convenient use and storage; long shelf life under appropriate conditions.
- Dimensional stability provides adequate working time for shaping and model pouring.
Quick application guide
- Soften: Immerse the cake or stick in hot water at 50–55°C until fully pliable.
- Apply: Adapt the compound onto the impression tray and shape with wet fingers.
- Impress: Seat intraorally and perform dynamic border molding; allow to harden by oral cooling.
- Remove and cool: Remove carefully, rinse with cold water, and disinfect according to established protocols.
